BEST CONFERENCE DAY

The BEST Conference Day (BCD) is a symposium at the european level that includes presentations, workshops, training sessions, networking and other activities related to the Sustainable Development Goals.
Attendees will be STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) students of the Polytechnic University of Valencia and across Europe. With the support of the Polytechnic University of Valencia and our partner companies we will train and develop these students to broaden their knowledge in technical and professional subjects, in addition to bringing them closer to the workplace.
The conference will take a full day and will take place on the Campus of Vera (UPV). The collaborating institutions will have direct and personal contact with these students through specific sessions, in which the companies will be the protagonists. Each of these sessions will be designed based on the knowledge and experience of each company in its specific area.

SESSIONS
WORKSHOP
Interactive session of 1 and a half to 2 hours in which the company to shares knowledge, tools, or methodologies related to its field, offering students practical experience and a vision of the operation of the industry.
DISCUSSION GROUP
With a duration of 1 and a half to 2 hours, a session with a small group of students will be held. These students will discuss and analyse a topic and to generate insights from different perspectives while being guided by the company’s representatives.
TALK
With an approximate duration of 1 hour, the company has the opportunity to inform the student groups about the objective on the topic they wish to address.
During this space the companies can introduce themselves and their operation, promote a message, explain a project or to publicize opportunities that they deem relevant.
CASE STUDY
With an approximate duration of 2 and a half to 3 hours, there will be a competition in which the company proposes a case study to be solved in a theoretical approach by the students.
The teams, cmoposed of the students, will work to find the optimal solution to the presented case, and lay it out to a jury of professors and professionals, who will then decide the winning team.
NETWORKING COFFEE
During the BEST Conference Day there will be a 45 minute break, in which companies and students will be able to mingle and network. It provides an informal space for attendees to interact, exchange ideas, and establish useful contacts.
